Job Title: Intake Specialist

Description

Position requires an individual with an outgoing personality who is knowledgeable about financial benefit verification, and enjoys the challenge of high volume workload. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years financial services experience, with emphasis on the client admissions process, including benefits and eligibility verification and pre-authorization rules.

Minimum Requirement:
Must be fluent in American Sign Language, have an access to Video Phone, owns pager, own computer, internet access

Other requirements of the position include, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines. Candidate should possess basic computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel applications. Successful candidate will be responsible for verification of all clients benefits and demographic information with a clear understanding of the eligibility rules specific to United First Financial and MTL Insurance Company.

Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
• In addition to English fluency, assistant must also be fluent in American Sign Language
• Must possess cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills
• Must maintain confidentiality with client data – this position deals with extremely sensitive information
• Familiarity with Disability benefits, retirement benefits, Deaf communities, community agencies and resources is preferred
• Must possess good organizational skills and an interest in non-profit administration

Supervisor: Interns will be supervised by Linda Cummings and also supported by Financial Success Principles’ Volunteer Coordinator.

Commitment: Intake Specialists are needed on a semester schedule and rolling basis. FSP prioritizes long-term
volunteers who gain skills and experience during their time at ESP, enabling them to more fully contribute. This Intake Specialist is expected to commit to 6-30 hours per week for the following period:

  • Fall (September through December)
  • Spring (end of January through May)
  • Summer (June-August)
  • Rolling basis (4 month minimum commitment)

Preferred Degree:
Accounting, Communication, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources

Will Accept:
Co-op Students, Interns, Trainees
